IDF conducting raids and searches in West Bank; Netanyahu: We will take the necessary steps to attack the attackers and defend those who need to be defended.
Four Israelis were killed and 16 injured in a terrorist attack Wednesday evening in Tel Aviv when two terrorists, cousins from Yata near Hebron, carried out the shooting at the Sarona Market, one of them neutralized and the other being treated in a Tel Aviv hospital.
The victims of Wednesday evening’s terror attack are Idan Ben-Ari, 42, from Ramat Gan, Dr. Michael Feige, 58 from Midreshet Ben-Gurion, lana Nave, 39, from Tel Aviv and Mila Mishayev, 32, from Rishon Lezion.
Hamas responded to the attack, spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri claiming the “Tel Aviv operation is a natural response to Israeli desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the crimes against the Palestinian people.”
The IDF responded swiftly to the attacks, conducting raids and carrying out arrests in the town of Yata in the West Bank. Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, Maj.Gen. Yoav Mordechai cancelled eased security restrictions for Palestinians during Ramadan amidst security concerns following the attacks.
Returning from his visit to Russia, Prime Minister Netanyahu responded to the terror attack, stating “This was a difficult event, a cold-blooded murder by criminal terrorists. I want first of all to send condolences to the families whose worlds were decimated at this moment, and of course wish for the swift healing of the wounded… We’re in the middle of a complex period. We will act decisively and intelligently…We will take the necessary steps to attack the attackers and defend those who need to be defended.”
