A minor earthquake was reported in southern Israel and Egypt Monday morning in the region ofthe Red Sea and Sinai Peninsula. The quake was felt in Eilat and in small towns in the Negev Desert.

The United States Geological Survey measured the earthquake at 5.0-magnitude on the Richter scale, with no damages or injuries reported from the earthquake.

The last earthquake reported was in April in the Negev Desert in southern Israel.
