Following harsh summer conditions, Israel receives first major rain storm
Israel has officially entered the winter season, with rainstorms and lower temperatures through out the country.
Israel received 35 mm of rain in the center of Israel overnight, 15 mm in Tel Aviv, 23 in Ashkelon and 15 in Rishon LeTzion following 0 mm of rain until Wednesday morning. While limited flooded was reported in northern Israel, several electricity outages were reported.
The Mediterranean Sea is expected to experience high winds as the rainstorms continue through out Israel. Thunderstorms and lower temperatures are expected to carry on for the next few days.
Israel desperately needs the rain following high temperatures and sand storms through August and September that affected Israel’s agriculture and resulted in high levels of air pollution.
