Following six days of negotiations, talks between world powers and Iran were extended, State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf stating, “We’ve made enough progress in the last days to merit staying until Wednesday. There are several difficult issues still remaining.”

Iran has been given several extensions in talks, this round missing the deadline for March 31.

According to reports Wednesday morning, a high level meeting was adjourned with foreign ministers and diplomats. Additionally, Russia and Iran have reported progress in talks and optimism.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that, “One can say with relative certainty that we at the minister level have reached an agreement in principle on all key aspects of the final settlement of this issue.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zariff stated that “We have accomplished quite a bit but people needed to get some rest and start over early in the morning. I hope that we can finalize the work on Wednesday and hopefully start the process of drafting (a final accord).”
