Qatar has started building in Gaza with its allotted $1 billion pledge which will reportedly rebuild over 1,000 homes that were destroyed in the Gaza Strip during Operation Protective Edge.

Overall close to $5.4 billion has been pledged by Arab states and international organizations and NGO’s in Egypt in October to rebuilding Gaza following the summer operation.

Israel has reportedly allowed four truckloads of supplies into the Strip according to the Qatar Committee to Rebuild Gaza head Mohammad al-Amadi. He stated that “Today we are starting the $1 billion (effort). We want more countries to come and build Gaza.”
