Five member of the terrorist organization Hezbollah were killed in a reported Israeli Air Force airstrike on Syria Sunday afternoon. According to initial reports the son of former Hezbollah leader Imad Mughniyeh was killed in the airstrikes.

The Lebanese newspaper Al Mayadeen released a report Sunday afternoon that an Israeli helicopter fired two rockets into Syria near the Quneitra border crossing with Israel. The report claimed that, “An Israeli helicopter fired two missiles on Amal Farms in Quneitra.”

According to international media sources, Israel targeted terrorists who were planning an attack on Israel. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israeli aircrafts targeted armed vehicles, suspected of arms transfers to Hezbollah.

An Israel official reportedly confirmed that the Israeli Air Force prevented an attack on Israel- however, the IDF has not confirmed such reports.
