Israel was hit by a major rainstorm Saturday night, the storms to continue through Monday. The country experienced heavy winds as well as loud thunder, hail and lightning. Winds are expected to ride past 90 MPH.

There has been flooding through out the country, Israel’s main Ayalon Highway flooded, causing major exits to be closed off. The rain has continued through out Sunday morning, causing delays and roadblocks.

The Dead Sea is being closely monitored out of fear the heavy rainfall may cause rivers in close proximity to Sea to cause it to overflow.

Temperatures are expected to drop through out the country as the winter season begins in Israel, the rain and thunderstorms to continue.

Despite the traffic and issues caused to Israel’s infrastructure, the Jewish state benefits highly from heavy rainfall following summer droughts that heavily affected Israel’s farmers and economy over the summer.
